Sitting in the airport in Dublin

1. Why isn’t there any wifi at gates?
2. Why does all the coffee taste like bovril?
3. Why aren’t there more power outlets?
4. Why do you have to pay €20 to sit on comfortable chairs for 3 hours?
5. Why are there only 3 ATM machines in the whole airport?

If you have any answers to all these questions, put them on the back of a postcard and send them to:

I found an open WiFi node at the end of Dublin Airport’s Terminal A in late December 2004. Here’s hoping it’s still lighted.

    hea Bernie,

Good to see you up and active again. Funnily enough, I am going to Galway, and will be leaving from A12, so I will check this morning.

Although, I really don’t want to have to try and leave thru the A terminal for every flight!

cheers for the lead tho’, I will check it out.

    Bernie,

Well you were right..there is an Eircom AP in the end of Terminal A. Sitting at A12, you can get full coverage..so I guessing the AP is in the middle of the area! Excellent!

    Thanks for the pointer!

    juppee!

    ATM locations in the airport:

Bank of Ireland: ground level car park
Bank of Ireland: arrivals level beyond car hire desks far end (this is a “secret” one - no one seems to know about it)
2 x Bank of Ireland: departures level at Bank of Ireland Branch
    Bank of Ireland; Maxol Garage
AIB just past exit to Area B.
I think - although I’m not entirely sure where it is, that there is also an AIB atm somewhere near Area A.
