Watching Prime Time this evening, and they had a section on the increase of prisioners being deemed insane and being sent to the Central Mental Hospital in the past 4 years.

The strange thing is that prisoners can be deemed sane when the courts want them to appear in a courtroom procedure (for whatever reason), and once the appearance is finished, they are deemed insane once more.

The acting director, Dr. Harry Kennedy, says it is due to the better screening process his doctors are using, and that previously some prisoners were using the CMH as a hiding place.

Surely if they were using the CMH as a hiding place, this new screening process would find them, and the number of admittences would decrease?
