Bernie came across an Al Qaeda training manual which was posted on the US States Department of Justice website in July.
(The URL is currently the number 1 result for “al qaeda” in google)

The website states:
“The Department is only providing the following selected text from the manual because it does not want to aid in educating terrorists or encourage further acts of terrorism.”

Well I think guys its a little late for that now.

I have downloaded a copy of it and going to give it a read to see what kind of information these people are being fed. it should make for an interesting read. Not your typical summer beachtime read, but…

The first most interesting (and slightly risque) quote is:

Islamic governments have never and will never be established through peaceful solutions and cooperative councils.
They are established as they [always] have been:
by pen and gun
by word and bullet
by tongue and teeth

Is that true? Have Islamic governments always been built on violence, and killing?

The system of government under Islam is based upon the Quran and the Sunna of the Prophet Muhammad. The sovereignty of God, the message conveyed by all the prophets, is the foundation of the system.

Legislation contained in the Quran becomes the basic law of the state. This puts the basic law of the land beyond the lobbying power of particular interest groups and ensures that legislation is just and equitable. In cases not covered by revelation, decisions based on Islamic principles are left to the Mujtahids, Islamic experts on legal interpretation (and this I think, is where the problem arises, from )

All human beings are equal (according to God in the Quran.) He was going to create a caliph (a representative) on earth, and this was the human race. The only distinction made by God is in their degree of righteousness.
Islam allows no distinction amongst people on the basis of tribe or race, ethnic group or amount of wealth. The Muslims are different from other people only in that they are conscious of the importance of submission to God’s rules and teachings.

The establishment of justice for all citizens of the state, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, is one of the major purposes of the Islamic system of government.

Corruption, bribery, abuse of authority, the creation of social conflict for personal or group benefit, torture, exploitation and oppression, are all evils against which the Islamic system must struggle. It is the duty of every individual Muslim and of the Islamic government to strive for justice and to prevent and oppose evil.

I find this quote slightly hard to believe, but it is true there has been alot of violence and bloodshed with regards Islamic politics. Will that happen in the new Iran?
Is Ahmadinejad going to make Iran into the model Islamic government as explained above? Or is it going to, possibly, go the way that Al Qaeda and these terrorist see things?
