Right, so I have have managed to make some progress on installing *@home as I mentioned earlier.

My main issue was installing the *@home ISO image on a Mini-ITX Via mobo. This is documented in the asterisk@home handbook here.

After finguring out that I needed the *actual* CentOS ISOs first, it worked fine.

[A quick tip: if you are installing asterisk@home on a machine where you need the actual OS installed first, you can do a “server” profile install and it will work fine. BUT you will need disc1 and disc3 at least. They can be snarfed from here, via your local mirror. Here is mine]

After doing a “server” profile install, I then got the asterisk@home 1.5 tarball. And followed the instructions here to change the Makefile, as here:

CD to /usr/src/asterisk and edit the Makefile
Remove the # in front of the line “PROC=i586″
type
cd ..
then
./rebuildastsrc.sh

[A quick tip: you might have to untar asterisk_src.tar.gz which will be located in /var/aah_load/ if you follow the install instructions.]

The final thing to do is kick off the install:
[root@sanfermin aah_load]# ./install.sh

On a Mini-ITX box connected to the Internet via a DSL line, it took about 45-50 minutes to go from beginning to the final reboot to finish the install.

Now I just have to get it working with Blueface, and from reading their site, they do support it.
