Reading Michele’s posts today and I find my second favourite (well second behind Fourty Coats) children’s TV character, Judge, is being used by EBay.ie to teach people how to buy safely online.

It is a good idea, but as Michele mentions, the younger audience (ie under 25-30) might not make the connection between Judge, Judge’s Safe-Cross Code TV campaign, and the new EBay campaign.

It might get those 30-something naieve Internet users, and their parents, who will remember Judge’s wise words on TV. Actually just thinking about it, they probably are the only real groups that need saving. Younger kids will (by virtue of the fact of growing up with the Internet) be safer and more clued in.

I wonder who approached who first. I would like to think that EBay saw the potentional in using, what is really an Irish character, Judge first.

I would love to see the campaign going to TV also. The connection could be made straight away.
