Slightly tongue-in-cheek but true nonetheless.

I spent today at MSHQ attending the “Active Directory -Maximizing Performance and In-Depth Replication Troubleshooting” organised by Colm Torris of Microsoft Technet Ireland.

The seminars speakers were John Craddock and Sally Storey of Kimberry Consulting based in England.

TBH, I was slightly worried it was going to be a strange feeling, but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The two speakers were definately experts in internals of the Active Directory. And for a “self-confessed tinkerer”, they definately went in deep WRT to Active Directory, both 2K and 2K3.

Everything seemed to be built on Virtual Server 2005 R2, which MS have made free (as in not paying ;) ). It should be noted also that VMWARE ESX (I think) is also free.

All in all, I definately learned alot from the event. And well done to Colm on organising a fun event. I will be back.
