Bernard is leaving the IJ building. Do you want to take his place! :)

No, I’m not as big as Elvis (physically or reputation-wise!), but I am leaving IrishJobs, to take up a new position with another company. I was made an offer that I couldn’t refuse (as the saying goes).
I have managed to learn an absolute mountain of new skills while I was here, and I will be taking these with me (if I can remember them!). I managed to get RSS feeds released which was a pretty cool thing for me, and there are lots and lots of other ideas on the burner.
So, with that, my position is now available. The title is Systems Administrator, but there is alot more involved (as always!). It will be a senior role, as there will be a junior sysadmin in place to assist in day-to-day work.
Leaving aside all the great company blurb, the main things to know are:
* Microsoft Windows Administration (W2K, W2K3-32bit & 64bit)
* Primary/senior role in applying this expertise in the day to day administration of the existing environment and in implementing new IT projects, in-house and on our production sites
Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain technical issues related to the technical server and subsystem infrastructure on a daily basis.
* Actively comply and promote the IT standards and processes.
* Second level technical support-diagnose and resolve problems of end users and mentoring other system administrators.
* Develop and support the implementation of new systems, services and applications.
Experience
* Ideally 3+ years experience with a Windows2000\2003 Active Directory environment
* Excellent knowledge of Server Hardware including SCSI and RAID (built in SAN/DAS/NAS config-mainly Dell, HP hardware)
* Experience with MDaemon Mail Server on Enterprise Level Servers
* Working knowledge, and experience with OpenBSD operating system.
* Excellent working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills of DNS, SMTP, POP protocols.
* Working Knowledge of Enterprise Antivirus solutions, preferably Sophos/McAfee Anti-Virus and Enterprise Backup Systems, preferably Veritas Backup Exec.
* Solid written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate
* Technical and business issues to technical and non-technical audiences
* Strong analysis and customer service skills.
* Sound problem resolution, judgment and decision-making skills
* MSCE and MCP Certification or equivalent essential.
* Experience with management and configuration of Cisco Pix firewalls
* Good physical networking skills (cabling, wiring), including physical networking troubleshooting skills
* Networking monitoring tools, windows based and UNIX based.
* Nortel BCM PABX configuration and management
There are a few benefits. You get to work in a pretty interesting company. They are blogger friendly (!). If you have to do heavy work, you can get a few benefits. The main office is city centre (I can get to and from work in about 15 mins). The IT team are an excellent group of people.
You can read the whole job description on IrishJobs (funnily enough)
So, if anyone is interested please send in your cv (make sure to mention my name!). If you have any questions, let me know and I will try to answer them.
ta!

Tell them to advertise the position on one of them jobs websites thingies
Or do you think they are just a passing fad?

Ah I dunno Tom. I don’t think this Intarnit thing will catch on. I mean how can it? Who needs a series of tubes? If you can’t pile stuff into it like trucks, what good is it?!
But, can you recommend any of them Intarnet spidersites?
