E-voting is intangible. It is programmed by other people. Built by other people. It is built on computers which you cannot see inside, or touch. We cannot look at the software as it is not open.
You have to trust other people, possibly a foreign company, with your voting franchise.
These have been shown to have issues (see the Dutch hack on voting machines supposed to be used in the Irish elections.)
Its taken 150 years to perfect our voting system.
Stay with the pen and pencil.
(I’m paraphrasing Joe McCarthy, an independent IT consultant who opposes the much poked-at e-voting system, heard on the Marianne Finnuciane radio programme.)
