Jesus saves - Amen

[UPDATE:] The Balcony TV guys might want to get their videos off MySpace as they are now on the copyright warpath.

MySpace, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation, will use technology from Audible Magic to screen content which users try to upload. If the audio track matches that held by the software and is identified as belonging to someone else, the video will be flagged by the system.

I hpoe things will be different in this one!

Ok, this will probably be seen as a rant. But its not really. Its a little comment on religion, especially Salvation

Jesus can be seen as the best data protection IT consultants who eve lived. Not only did he preach on how to be saved, *he* also saved so many himself.

In this world of Web 2.0 etc, no-one seems to remember this. You put your data in the hands of others, possibly false Gods, hoping they will save your data for you. But they often show their true colours, and leave you in the dark. Dataless and Godless.

It absolutely *amazes* me that people will put their important, priceless data on a third party server, and not even go to the trouble of making backups, saving it somewhere. This recently happened to Tom (lets not go into that again!), but like any sensible person he had the originals.

Guys like YouTube, Google, etc they have your data, and if you don’t have copies, your in trouble.

There is nothing wrong with using freebie services, but *for the love of God, save the fucking files*. One of the most important rules of data management is:

The smartest way to avoid data recovery altogether, is to create a backup of your files and keep backing them up.

And particularly seeing that the guys from Balcony TV got a communication from YouTube (who, unless your head was in the sand for the past month, has been “helping copyright owners” in the terrible fight against using copyrighted material “illegally”):

This is to notify you that we have removed or disabled access to the following material as a result of a third-party notification by Viacom International Inc. claiming that this material is infringing:

THE DIRTY 9s: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RudQLj13BxQ

I feel sorry for them, I really do, but did anyone else see that coming?

Guys, can I suggest you invest in a DVD burner and a spindle of disks, and *for the love of Jesus, get some help from an technical person*? I’ll even offer to help you guys out. Contact me via the contact page. I have done this thing in the past.

Sorry, if I insulted anyone, wasn’t my intention.

God bless.

actually hes not stuck on the hand… hes jumping off and thats how a parachute opens… it doesnt just go POOF and pop out, first comes the pilot chute is which is the red thing that looks “caught” in jesus’ hand, and that pulls out the bag which is the thing about halfway up the lines, the parachute is in that bag and this is what a typical BASE jump looks like… not really stuck… but he doesnt die… so whatever
