Give me back my old Newsgator!

[UPDATE]: My problem is with the classic version (which I think has changed from the “previous” classic version that was used). Jonathan from Newsgator has kindly commented below. Thanks Jonthan, and Brent also.
This is the interface I have a problem with.
It can take up to 40 seconds to load the page, or navigate through the folders.
I like Newsgator. Well, I did like Newsgator.
They recently “upgraded” the online newsreader, NewsGator Online to this “fluffy”, AJAX powered, all singing and dancing Web 2.0 version, along with other useful upgrades.
Before this “upgrade” it was a fantastic site. It loaded in seconds, synched with my Netnewswire install at home on my Powerbook.
Of course it still synchs with NNW (this is the major reason why I use Newsgator Online) perfectly (as possible). I love Brent Simmons’ NNW app. Its wonderful.
But, Newsgator guys, why? When I load the Newsgator page, it takes F O R E V E R to load.
I loaded it just now, started the clock, and it took 40 seconds to load. No, my connection is not slow (I am connected from the office network, which is leased line), and loads most pages in seconds.
The only reason I can think of is this wonderfully useful upgrade. Sure, you have to push your tools further and further, don’t get me wrong.
Can I at least ask a question: is it possible to go back to the static, boring old version? I was able to access that from my phone and my browser and all just worked. I know you have a new mobile version out, and if that works better, then I will gladly pay (if required - just checked: yes its required $29.95 fine).
But serious, the new version of Newsgator Online is a step backwards from your really useful and great tool.
So, any chance of the HTML version? Is it still alive?
Brent if you read this (and I know you do skoot around the ole’ Blog O’ Spehere) can you pass it onto the required people? I am not sure where to post this. I know people in NewsGator listen (Jack Brewster being one).
thanks

Sorry you don’t like the new beta reader! I’ve passed it on to other folks at NewsGator. (But they’ll probably see this anyway, since I’m definitely not the only person who watches for feedback around the ole’ Blog O’ Sphere.)
Hi!
Thanks for your feedback on the new reader. One of the major reason for the upgrade to AJAX is that for the majority of users it is significantly faster! However, as you note, there are a select group of users who are finding it to be slower.
Since we aren’t sure of what is causing it yet (we can’t reproduce it so far) we would love it if you would shoot over to our forums, or drop us an email. Any testing you can help us with that would cause a speedy experience for everyone would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

Hi Brent,
Aha! It worked:) Thanks for the comment, and on the tails of it (I presume) Jonathan’s comment.
Really, I think its a step backwards. Don’t get me wrong, lots of people want the all new singing and dancing things, but for me, functionality is something very important - especially for a tool that I have open from 8AM to 6PM in work.
thanks for the comment, and I look forward to getting my old, static NG back!
Say hi to Shiela for me (of course she won’t know who I am
I think she answered an e-mail once)

Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for the comment.
In fact, my mistake: my problem isn’t with the new AJAX version, its with the old “classic” version. In fact, thats not the version I had used up til about, 2-3 months ago.
It was a basic, static, click_on_button_and_the_menu_expands version
Has something changed with the classic version?
It seems that NewsGator asks you which version you want when you login from a new machine with no cookie - is that right? Or am I totally off?
See here.
Is it possible to get back the older classic version?
I have sent this comment to the e-mail address you added in above.
I’ll also update this post..
thanks

E-mail is gone to beta@
Thanks Jonathan
