Reading Neuromancer and Idoru, the kind of things that the “police” arrested people for seemed far-fetching and unbelievable…

After doing to random surfing (following links from one page to the next and ending up on something interesting) I came across the SecondLife Police Blotter, which lists “infractions” and “crimes” that have been committed (can you commit a crime in a purely virtual world?).

Some of the following are listed:

The Second Life Police Blotter displays the 25 most recent disciplinary actions taken by the Second Life Abuse Team. The date shown reflects when the incident occurred.

My favourite I have to say are a) “Teen Accessing Main Grid” (how Gibson-esque can you get?), b) “Weapons in No Weapon Area”, and c) “Assaulting others with scripts”.

If anyone is bizarre enough, you can get an XML feed of the “crimes” here.
