Sanfermin 2009 / Día 9/ Blur

Location: La Curva, Calle Estafeta, Pamplona, Navarra
Description: This photo was probably the best I was able to get from the position I had. Not that the position was bad. Someone with more experience than I could have made something great from this.

I liked this one, which was rattled off in a series of 10-15 shots (maybe less, I don’t remember), which captured a few things.

It captured the break-neck speeds this toros run at. It captured the endless stream of legs, bodies, and colours of the runners as they flow past you.

In all that motion, it also captured the one event runners don’t want to see: the halt of a runner, right in front of them. The runner who fell amongst the rest did the right thing: lay down, put your hands over your head, and don’t move.

He did get up later, after being trampled by humans, bulls and everything else.
