Leading on from the release of the Digital Rights press release last Friday, and the mainstream interest in this story (from Irish Times, Irish Independent, and the Irish Examiner), I have a challenge for everybody who reads this blog.
My challenge (with poetic license from Gavin Joyce - thanks Gavin!):
Tell 5 people about this government […]

Yesterday Digital Rights Ireland released a press release explaining the landmark case, we preparing to challenge the constitutionality of a law that obliges telecommunication companies to retain the details of all electronic traffic.
We have received excellent press coverage so far, with Examiner, Irish Times, and Irish Independent covering this story.
We would now like to see […]

This is ridiculous. Mobile operators sell (or at least give access to) subscribers data to third parties on the grounds of giving location based services to “protect” children.
Firstly the details about this service. Top Security, a security firm that offers physical security guards, and recently IT security are to release a service using mobile phones […]

I read this story before, but I picked it up again via Bruce Schenier.
That secret haven for world terrorists, Dillingham, Alaska, has suddenly become impenetrable to foreign terrorists.

Why? Well to beef on […]

From the Cordance.net site I find Cordance “has been a leader in the development of […]

I get a link yesterday from someone (who shall remain nameless, unless they want to be named), to a thread on Boards.ie discussing IRMA’s alleged letter sending campaign to filesharers.

A open-eyed reader had a quick look at IRMA’s website and found….to shock and horror:

irma6lh.jpg

Now that is disgraceful! IRMA using filesharing and music download (from the look of the links, possibly illegal music downloads at that!).

I wonder if anyone from IRMA would be available for comment on how they appear to be cashing in on Google Adwords to make money? Or are they using it for more sinister means?

Speaking with Damien Mully just now and he showed me some cool t-shirts “I was a copyright infringement in a previous life”, and I remembered I was asking a graphic designer could they make up some images for iPOD users…
“I put music on my iPod, so arrest me”
“I bought this CD. Its at home. Go […]
