Location: The ground, El CallejónPamplona, Navarra
Description: Inside the callejón, there are cutouts in the wall to allow for photographers to work, and if necessary, runners to crawl out to safety.

Normally they are used if there is a pile-up in the callejón – which can be fatal.

I have seen some beautiful photographs from these hidden safe areas. Next year, if I get accreditation, I intend on getting myself inside one.

Location: The callejón, outside the Plaza De Toros, Pamplona, Navarra
Description: Inside the callejón, while people are praying to San Fermín, sobering up, getting kicked off the street, arrested, the staff of the Plaza De Toros are cleaning the callejón, and the plaza.

At the end, the callejón gets a quick spray of water, to keeo dust down.

Location: Pamplona, Navarra
Description: The 3 or 4 hours before the encierro are really busy. Getting the streets clean, get the bottles, rubbish and drunk people cleared.

The callejón gets particular attention as it is the entrance to the Plaza De Toros, and the worlds eyes are on it daily.

The entrance is washed, cleaned, rubbish removed.

Then shortly before the encierro, it is wet to keep dust and sand down which can cause confusion.
