Photography work on an Apple iPad

The professional opinion is that it it useless for actually doing work.

But it is good for thumbing through photographs.

It is also supposed to be a saviour of sorts for the publishing/magazine industry.

Since I use my laptop with larger screen, and its about €800 cheaper, I think I’ll pass on one.

This is a real video. The footage is from a helmet-camera worn by an avalanche skier in Haines, Alaska.

He starts down the slope and then disaster strikes. I’ll let the video tell the rest of the story.

This is a really nice short video from Philip Bloom on Vimeo (with a great sound track), shot on the streets on Temple Bar in Dublin (it looks like a Friday/Saturday night). The Canon 7d shoots beautiful quality video. Well done Philip.

This guy on Vimeo, Robby Schweiss, took out his video camera and recorded the encierro from the point of when he started.

This is what the cops will kick you out for. Sure, the video is great and its exciting, but all it takes is you to take your eye of the toro for one second, or to miss the person who runs in front of you and you end up head down on the street.

Here’s a tip: If you are going to take part in the encierro, leave the video recording to the TV guys, they don’t have to worry about bullgoring them.

This is a great video of an interview with Vincente Martínez “Chichipán”, who is one of the pastores during the encierros of Sanfermin.

Unfortunately it’s only in Spanish, but its a good idea of what goes through these guys minds.

Most importantly he says – don’t touch the animals, and know whats going on during the encierro.
